Q: What is the difference between 14k and 18k gold?
A: 14k gold consists of 58.3% gold whereas 18k consists of 75% gold. The more gold content in a piece, the softer it is. With white gold, the jewellery piece is rhodium plated to give it a white appearance and therefore there is no visual difference between 14k and 18k. However, with yellow gold, the higher in gold carat, the more that the colour is visible.

Q: What is the difference between cubic zirconia and moissanites?
A: Cubic zirconia is essentially glass and will scratch as you wear your piece. A moissanite is a lab grown stone that is a 9.25 on the Moh’s Hardness Scale making it a durable option for a lifetime. Light refracts twice in a moissanite, which makes it an extremely brilliant and sparkly diamond alternative. In addition, all of our moissanites have flawless clarity and can be ordered in a D-E-F, colourless range for 1/10 of the price of a diamond of a similar quality.
